Sharon Carry, President and CEO of BVC, said it was moving to see pride on the faces of graduates and their families who filled the Jack Singer Concert Hall at the EPCOR Centre for the Performing Arts.
“We are here to celebrate the stories of our graduates and whether they continue their education or begin their careers, today is a truly memorable day that marks the beginning of a new chapter of their lives.”
The BVC Class of Winter 2010 was represented by valedictorians Nova-Lee DoBush, Business and Industry, Emily Hart, Health and Community Care, and Kathleen Israel, Academic Foundations.
They each expressed how much their BVC experience impacted their lives and the lives of their families.
“When I embarked on this journey towards my future one year ago, I believed that all I was doing was obtaining prerequisites that would allow me to begin a career program so that I could provide for myself and my family,” said Kathleen, Academic Foundations valedictorian. “Through my education, I found my voice … I have learned that a person with knowledge is never poor.”
